SpayAid PEI Services

Disclaimer
Your participation in any SpayAid PEI program is strictly voluntary. SpayAid PEI assumes no risk for the health of your pet or for the outcome of any surgery. Please remember --- neuter or spay assistance is for those in financial need. It is provided as a community service to help people as well as improve and save animal lives.

SpayAid PEI is providing assistance for residents of PEI who, due to financial limitations, are unable to spay or neuter their pets.  This program is made possible through funds raised by volunteers, and donations to SpayAid PEI by our supporters, as well as the generosity of Island veterinarians. Participating veterinarians are donating 1/3 of the cost of the surgery, SpayAid PEI is contributing 1/3 of the cost, and the remaining 1/3 of the cost is paid by the pet owner.

To see if you qualify for this program, please consult the table below.  In the column to the left look up the number of adults in your household, in the top row look up the number of children living in your household.  Find the corresponding after tax income.  If your family income falls below this number, you are eligible for our program.

If you think you qualify, please fill out an application form (CLICK HERE to download a .pdf file).  Submit the form, and a copy of your Notice(s) of Assessment from the previous tax year (2006), to SpayAid PEI, PO Box 20088, Charlottetown, PE, C1A 9E3  If your income exceeds the income limit, but you feel there are exceptional circumstances which influence your living expenses (e.g. family illness), please submit an application with an explanatory note, and your case will be discussed by a committee.

Your application will be evaluated, and once it is determined you are qualified for the program, a voucher will be mailed out to you.  This voucher can be used at any participating Veterinary Clinic, but it expires three months from the date of issue.  You will be required to phone the participating veterinarian of your choice, and book an appointment for your pets surgery.
